Boys Tennis

 September 2nd, 2020

Dear Parents:

6th, 7th & 8th Grade Tennis

We are excited that we will be able to offer girls and boys tennis this fall for students, but it will look different than it has in the past.  We will start with practices only, gradually build in intramural scrimmages to keep our contact groups small.  As the season progresses, depending on our status, we may be able to schedule competitions with other schools towards the end of  the season.  Please know that this plan is subject to change and we will update you if any changes are made.

The season begins Monday, Sept. 14th. On Monday we will meet in the cafeteria for an informational meeting that will end by 3:45. Please pick up your student by 3:45 on Monday.   On Tuesday Sept. 15,  All students will practice until 4:45 at the Stout tennis courts. Your student will be transported by bus and dropped off at the courts for practice. Please pick up your student at the courts at 4:45. Practices will be Monday through Thursday.

Please make an effort to complete and return extracurricular paperwork ASAP or before Sept. 14th. This paperwork includes an updated physical card, emergency contact card and the form from the back of the MMS Activity Program Rules and Regulations packet. The $50.00 activity fee is a one time fee for the year for all athletic events your child participates in.

If your child would like to purchase an athletic t-shirt if they don’t already have one, a separate check for $15.00 needs to be paid for your child to receive a shirt. This shirt is good for all sports your child participates in at the middle school and should be used for both 7th & 8th grade. Please take care of your shirt so you can use it for two years! Again please make the checks separate and return your payment to the office.

If payment for either of these items is a concern, please contact Danna Schmidt, Athletic Coordinator or Mark Anderson, Assistant Principal. We do not want a student not to participate for financial concerns!

A few changes need to be made in order to minimize Covid-19 exposure.

  1. Water Bottles will be required
  2. Hand washing and sanitizing will be expected at the start and end of practice.
  3. Mask will be worn on the bus to the courts
  4. Locker rooms will not be available so students should plan on wearing athletic clothing to school, and bring tennis shoes to practice.
