Menomonie Middle School Announcements –

District Art Competition:  Congratulations to Robert Melsness and Kendra Schmidt who placed 1st and 3rd at the District Art Competition.  They now will represent Menomonie Middle School at the State Competition.  Way to go!

Boys Tennis:  Because of the cold, wet and windy weather, tennis practice is cancelled for today, Monday, April 17.

MultiCultural Club:  Out next meeting is on Tuesday, April 18 in Mrs. Xelhunatzi’s room 3825 right after school until 4:00pm.  We will organize to sell concessions for two track meets and plan a visit with a Hmong American author.

Menomonie Public Library Author Visit:  Join us for an author visit on April 25th at 4pm- at the Menomonie Public Library.

V.T. Bidania was born in Laos and grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is the author of the ASTRID AND APOLLO series, the first children’s book series to star Hmong American characters, and A YEAR WITHOUT A HOME, a fictionalized memoir in verse about her family’s escape from Laos at the end of the Vietnam War.

A limited number of her books will be available for purchase at the event.

 

Starts Tonight!  Boys and Girls Cheerleading Tryouts 2023-24:  Any current 8th graders interested in Cheerleading next school year, check this out.  Practices will be Mon. April 17 – Thurs. April 20 from 4:00 – 6:00pm in the Cardio Room at the HS Fieldhouse.  Tryouts will be on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00pm in the cardio room at the HS Fieldhouse.  Please bring:  water bottle, tennis shoes, gym shorts & t-shirt.  Any questions, please email Megan at [email protected].
