Menomonie Middle School Announcements

SAM Bags: If you would like SAM bags this year, please stop in the office and pick up a permission form.  You must turn in a form in order to receive bags.  If you received them last year, you do need to fill out a form again this year.  Please see Ms. Potter in the office if you have any questions.

Cross Country: Practice starts this Thursday, September 4th.  Join us in the cafeteria with PE/running clothes and shoes.  See or email Ms. Zuber with questions or for the sign-up form.

Fall Drama:  Welcome to present-day Sleepy Hollow.  This famed little town now has traffic lights, modern plumbing, even a Dunkin Donuts – but traces from its past remain.   This fall, the MMS Drama students will take us on a tour of Sleepy Hollow, but discover there is more truth to the legend than they thought.  The past clashes with the present, as the young square off with the dead, and the Headless Horseman is thrust into a 21st century of bicycles and cell phones.

Auditions for the Fall Play, Waking Sleepy Hollow, are next week on Monday and Tuesday, September 8th & 9th!

For more information, and to sign up for your audition, go to the MMS Drama website, and ask Mrs. Enyeart, Mr. Dolan, Ms. Lausted, or Mrs. Grubbe if you have questions!

Boys Soccer:  There will be a soccer meeting after school on Thursday, September 4, until 3:45PM.  Please make sure you have a ride home promptly following the meeting.

School Store:  The School Store will be open starting Tuesday, September 9th after school until 3:10pm.    Stop by to purchase your after school snacks!

Student Council:  Join Student Council!  Student Council is a leadership group that plans student and staff activities as well as community service activities.  We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 7:30am – 8:09am (during Homeroom) in the library.

Application forms are available in the office.  There is no voting process.  Simply fill out the form and get it signed by an adult at home.

Forms are due to Ms. Yonash or Mrs. Williams by Friday, Sept. 26th.  The first Student Council meeting is Tuesday, September 9th.

Word of the Month: Prompt

Quote of the Week: Being prompt shows the world you value your commitments and the people you interact with.
