Menomonie Middle School Announcements
CORE Leaders: Please meet quickly with your chromebook in the cafeteria after announcements.
7th & 8th Grade Boys Basketball: Our first practice will be on Monday, November 3rd. The practice will start right after school and end at 4:45pm. Be sure to have shoes and clothes for playing basketball as this will be a regular practice.
Fuel Up Activity League: Our second Fuel Up Activity League starts this week. We will be running an “open” or “pick-up” Kickball League. Every Wednesday during WIN (for kids with no missing work) and Friday during Homeroom, students who want to play in a kickball game can come to the mesa and we will quickly pick teams and play. We will most likely split by grade-level, just like we did during the football league. Each day the league is run, students can choose if they want to play or not. Spectating is not allowed. If you come down, you must play. We will run this league as long as the weather cooperates.
Multi-Cultural Club: It’s the last week to order a Butter Braid from a Multi-Cultural Club member. $16 for 1 Butter Braid. Butter Braid orders are due on Monday, Nov. 3 to Mrs. Bade and/or Mr. Kreibich. Multi-Cultural Club meeting will be Tuesday, November 4th.
Halloween: On Friday, October 31st, Student Council is hosting a dress up day. You will be allowed to wear your costumes, as long as it follows school rules and does not cause distractions in the classroom. Have fun and be creative with your costumes. No masks, no blood, no weapons. You can wear hats that are part of a costume. If any part of your costume becomes a distraction, the teachers have the power to take the distraction away.
Trick or Can: Get ready for a spooky season of giving! We are thrilled to announce the return of a wonderful middle school tradition: the "Trick or Can" food drive, sponsored by your Menomonie DECA chapter!
This is our chance to come together and make a huge difference for families in our community. All of the non-perishable food items we collect will be donated to Stepping Stones of Dunn County, a fantastic local organization that supports our neighbors in need.
Collection boxes will be delivered to each classroom, so you can start bringing in your donations right away.
And to add a little friendly competition, the classroom that collects the most items will win a delicious donut party!
DECA students will come around to collect all the donations at the end of the day on Thursday, October 30th. So let's fill those boxes and show our incredible community spirit. Let the canning… I mean, the haunting… begin!
Science Olympiad: Our first Science Olympiad meeting will be today in Ms. Scott’s room after school. If you haven’t filled out the digital sign up, please do so before this meeting. See Coach Zuber, Scott or Graf with questions or to get the sign up.
Word of the Month: Empathy
Quote of the Week: Learning to stand in somebody else’s shoes, to see through their eyes, that’ how peace begins. And it’s up to you to make that happen. Empathy is a quality of character that can change the world.
