Menomonie Middle School Announcements 

Forward Exam Testing:  We begin Forward Exam Testing next week.  Here are a few simple things students can do to prepare:

  • Make sure you bring your chromebook and it’s fully charged
  • Make sure you are in school and on time
  • Get lots of rest and eat a healthy breakfast
  • Bring earbuds – on appropriate testing days

 

Parents:  You can help too!

  • Make sure your student is to school and on time
  • Try not to make appointments on testing days
  • If you do have to pick up your student during the day, send a note the day of so we can give them a pass.We can not call in or interrupt classes during testing.

 

 

Battle of the Books:  Participants, please join Mrs. Waddell and Mrs. Navarro in the library for our final meeting in the library right after announcements.

 

Boys Swim:  Last night the boys swim team competed in their final meet of the season and placed 4th out of the 5 teams competing.  The entire team scored points and improved in all their events and had multiple top 8 finishers throughout the night.  The team of Jack Ruegnitz, Carter McKown, Seth Ray, and Peter Lake placed 6th overall in the 200 Medley Relay.  Peter placed 3rd overall in the 200 freestyle as well Brennan Anderson placing 8th overall in the 200 freestyle.  Seth Ray placed 8th overall in the 100 Individual Medley and 6th overall in the 50 Butterfly.  Jack Ruegnitz placed 4th overall in the 100 freestyle, along with Brennan Anderson coming in right behind him in 5th place in the 100 freestyle.  Jack also went on to place 2nd overall in the 50 backstroke.  Carter McKown helped finish out the night by placing 8th overall in the 50 breaststroke.  The team of Brennan, Seth, Carter, and Peter placed 6th overall in the 200 Freestyle Relay.  Congrats to Seth, Brennan, Peter, Jack, Carter, Tobias Leckel, Isaiah Sahm, and Landin Falkner on a fantastic season!

 

Wrestling:  Congratulations on a successful season!  Gear turn-in will take place on Monday, March 31st in the wrestling room.  Please bring your singlet and all loaned materials to the wrestling room on that day.

 

Fact about Asia from the MultiCultural Club:  Hmong New Year is a harvest festival and is celebrated in the fall.  Hmong Americans wear beautiful and elaborate fold clothing.  There is dancing, singing, volleyball tournaments, and delicious foods.
