Menomonie 8th Grade Football 2022
Greetings MMS 8th Graders,
Hopefully, you have enjoyed a restful, invigorating, and fun summer. As we get closer to the start of the school year, I can provide you with a few particulars about the start of our 2022 football season. If for any reason this changes, we will let you know as soon as possible.
There will be an informational and equipment handout meeting for parents and players the night of Monday, August 22 from 4-6 pm. The first week of practice is Tuesday, August 23 thru Thursday, August 25 and the week of August 29 thru September 2 from 3:00-5:15 in the fields to the north of the middle school. Because each of us grows at a different pace, we split into two squads (once we are in gear): a heavy weight and a light weight. There is no set weight that we use to establish what team you will play on, and in many cases, your body development plays a role in how we determine where you play. Our number one concern is your safety! Our first three days are without equipment (except a helmet).
Players will need a bi-yearly physical, $50 athletic fee, code of conduct and emergency card. All paperwork can be received and filled out the night of August 22. If you have not had a physical in the last two years, you will need to get one before you can practice. Forms can be found on our website or contact the school office at (715) 232-1673 ext. 30111.
