2021-22 Parent Letter

March 7th, 2022

6th, 7th & 8th Grade Girls Soccer

We are pleased to have your child participate in the Menomonie Middle School soccer program.

The season will begin Monday, April 4th in the MS gyms. Please wear gym clothes and shoes.  All students will practice from 3:00 to 4:45.  Please pick your child up no later than 5:00 on practice nights. When weather permits, practices are at the Red Cedar Soccer fields located between Menomonie Middle School and Oak Lawn Elementary. If school is not in session there will be no practice. Students are encouraged to listen to announcements in case practice is canceled due to severe weather or poor field conditions.

All extracurricular paperwork must be completed and returned before the student will be allowed to actively participate in practice. If your child has already participated in a sport this year at MMS, the paperwork is on file and you do not have to turn it in again.

This paperwork includes a physical, emergency contact card and the Insurance/code form on the back of the MMS Activity Program Rules and Regulations packet.  A $50.00 activity fee should be paid as soon as possible with cash or a check and written out to Menomonie Middle School.  If your child has already participated in a sport at MMS and you have paid this fee you do not have to pay again. The students are also required to purchase a MMS sports T-shirt for $15.00. The t-shirts are good for all athletic events your child participates in during 6th, 7th & 8th grade.

Please send cash or a check separate from the activity fee. (Checks can be made out to MMS). Checks/cash for both of the above can be given to the office. If payment for either of these items is a concern please contact Danna Schmidt, Athletic Coordinator, or Mark Anderson, Assistant Principal.

We strongly encourage all students to participate no matter what their skill level may be at this time. The goal of the program is to promote the development of soccer skills through interscholastic play. We strive for fair and equal play for all athletes based on practice participation, grades and school behavior. Students will need a pair of soccer cleats, shin guards, and soccer socks for outdoor practice and games.

Any questions or concerns,

Please contact Danna Schmidt, Athletic Coordinator #715-232-8523 ext.30273
