Menomonie Middle School Announcements 

Gaming Club:  We will meet today after school from3-4 in Mr. Dolan's room.  See you there!

CORE Leaders:  8th grade CORE leaders please come down to the cafeteria right after announcements for a quick CORE check-in.

Menomonie Area Soccer:  Menomonie Area Soccer is looking for players to join their boys and girls travel teams.  Travel soccer provides a more competitive environment for players with structured practices focusing on player positions and game day strategies.  Two practices per week with league games on Saturday and two tournament weekends.  Players with athletic experience are encouraged to register.  Scholarships may be available.  Go to menomonieyouthsports.com/menomonieareasoccer to register by February 23.

Spring Sport Pictures:  Sport pictures are scheduled for the following days.

Boys Swim:  Thursday, Feb. 22 at the pool.  Online code:  RVTG8837G

Spring Pictures:  Spring pictures will be on Tuesday, February 27th.  We will begin right after announcements and the photographer will leave as soon as we are done so don't be late to school!  Order forms are available in the front office or can be placed online at lifetouch.com using online code:  EVTCTT8BJ

Yummy Hearts:  Student Council is selling Yummy Heart Suckers.  We will be selling them during lunch Tuesday, February 13 ? Thursday, February 15.  Cost is $1 per sucker.  All sales go to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.

Yearbooks:  Get your yearbook orders in by February 23rd to get the low price of $25.  Order online at jostens.com.  You can only purchase the yearbook online.  There are no in person sales.  If you have any questions feel free to ask Mrs. Forster in the 6th grade blue pod or Ms. H in the 8th grade maroon pod.

February is Black History Month:  Every February, the U.S. honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who have helped shape the nation.  Black History Month celebrate the rich cultural heritage, triumphs and adversities that are in indelible part of our country's history.  Throughout the month of February, MMS will recognize just a few African Americans who have influenced this country.

Laila Ali is an American television personality and retired professional boxer who competed from 1999 to 2007. During her career, from which she retired undefeated, she held the WBCWIBA, IWBF and IBA female super middleweight titles, and the IWBF light heavyweight title. Ali is widely regarded by many within the sport as one of the greatest female boxers of all time.  She is the daughter of iconic boxer Muhammad Ali.
