Science Olympiad:  We will not be meeting today due to a coaches meeting.

Student Council:  We will not be doing blankets today after school.  We will let you know when the new date is in.

Boys Swim:  Boys swim starts tonight but it’s not too late to join.  If interested, take bus #1 in the line to the High School pool and talk to us about swim on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Bring your swimsuit.  You can also talk to Mrs. Schmidt at the Middle School. 

Want to become a lifeguard at age 15 and make $10 per hour?  Come swim with us and we will teach you all the swim you need to know.

 

Black History Month:  February is Black History Month, which is a time to commemorate and reflect on remarkable African American trailblazers who have left enduring legacies by igniting a desire for hone and change.  In honor of Black History Month, we are gathering some inspiring quotes from powerful Black leaders.

 

Jesse Owens – The battles that count aren’t the ones for gold medals.  The struggles within yourself – the invisible, inevitable battles inside all of us – that’s where it’s at.

 

Jess Owens was an American track and field athlete and four-time gold medalist in the 1936 Olympic Games.  Owens specialized in sprints and the long jump and was recognized in his lifetime as “perhaps the greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history.”
